It is very understandable since there is so many bad stories vs good stories owning one of these kinds of fish. It is not a fish you can go half dedicated to. You really need to know their only natural food source is copepods. Do not buy one expecting they will ever eat frozens. It could happen in a week or never. I wanted to show others another alternative to their feeding. This I would never say is 100% effective, but in theory. I believe if you get them to eating the baby brine shrimp. They will have that taste in their mouth and recognize it when you are feeding the rest of the tank frozen brine foods. If you happen to notice them interested in a frozen food passing by like I did from experience. I thawed out some more and shut off the powerheads. Placed some near him and he hasn't looked back since. If you want to try to get them to eat mysis. After a few weeks of feeding it frozen brine. Throw a little bit of mysis in the brine thawing out to trick it. This has worked for me.
Checkout some of my videos how to keep copepods the easy way. That is a 100% guaranteed way to make sure they do not starve to death. With the combo of the baby brine and harvesting of copepods every week. If all is successful for the two food sources being kept. You should have no problem keeping one.
Sorry about the quality of the video. It was feeding time and I had no one to hold the camera.
