Today we are going to see how to make Madhurai Meenakshi ammavari prasadam gudannam which is popularly known as Nei pongal, Chakkera Pongali as well. Gudannam offered as prasadam in many temples of Tamil nadu & Kranataka and Andhra Pradesh. The recipe is even mentioned in Lalitha Sahasra namaulu as Gudanna preetha masana. which means Amma loves the gudannam. Preparation of this recipe Is very easy with limited steps and ingredients but few tips and exact measures must be followed for assured taste. Making of this prasadam involves cooking of rice followed by melting of jaggery then mixing with cooked rice by adding ghee and finally little edible camphor and roasted cashews.
