On a visit to Uplands Royal Canadian Air Force station in Ottawa, Group Captain Douglas Bader (RAF) steps out of car accompanied by Wing Commander Don Miller, former Commanding Officer of 242 Squadron, CF100 (new Canadian all-weather fighter plane) in background. Bader is introduced to young Canadian pilots. VS. Bader climbs ladder and gets into CF 100. CU. Bader at control, pan to and from Wing Commander Miller. VS. Bader climbs down ladder from the CF 100. VS He inspects CF 100 with Wing Commander. Miller. Later the same day Bader is Guest of Honour at at the 26th Convention of the Royal Canadian Flying Clubs Association. VLS. Dining Hall and head table. VS. As Air cadet Ernest Nikoden (a sergeant in the Welland Ontario, Air Cadet Squadron) shakes hands with Air Marshal C.R. Slemon, Chief of the Canadian Air Staff, then receives token award of the W.F. Tudhope Memorial Trophy for being the most proficient Canadian Air Cadet in 1954. MS. Crowds applauding. MCS. Nikoden stretches over and touches actual trophy, then walks off. MS. CU. Pan, each of Bader's old comrades in 242 Squadron applauding camera left to Squadron Leader Bob Grassick, Squadron Leader Noel Stansfield and Flight Lieutenant Dib Dibnah. MLS.
