Sophia Perovskaya was a noble woman who became swept up in revolutionary ideas, and she was part of a group that plotted to kill the Russian Emperor. They wanted change in the country, but they built bombs and Sophia herself was even part of arming them the night before the attack. They threw two bombs at the Emperor's carriage and it was a very brutal death for Tsar Alexander II. Sophia Perovskaya was arrested for her involvement and she was then sentenced to death.
