Lord Shiva is one of the supreme beings who creates, protects and transforms the universe. This vigorous dance with strong footwork depicts Lord Shiva as the protector of all life and happiness. He is the Mahadeva (great god), the Neelakantha (blue-throated one), the father of Lord Ganesha and Lord Murugan, the husband of Goddess Parvathy, and the destroyer of Kaala (death). His unruly and matted hair is adorned by the crescent moon and the Ganga river, his body covered in tiger skin, and a cobra coiled around his neck. He is the ruler of the three worlds, grips his trident with empowerment, and dances blissfully with fire in one hand and a drum in another. This piece is a composition of Sri. Patanjali Muni in which eight verses represent the Glory of Lord Shiva.
