Renters Continue to Be Punished After Time-Served

Nearly 90% of landlords use criminal background checks in their rental application processes. This presents a problem when nearly one third of Americans have some sort of criminal history. Add to that the racial biases of the American justice system, and the flaws in the system become clear: a criminal history can dictate where you live.
