The State of India , also referred as the Portuguese State of India (Estado Português da Índia, EPI) or simply Portuguese India (Índia Portuguesa), was a colonial state of the Portuguese Empire founded six years after the discovery of a sea route to the Indian subcontinent by the Kingdom of Portugal.Vasco da Gama’s discovery of the sea route made it easier for the europeans to settle in the subcontinent. The capital of Portuguese India served as the governing centre of a string of Portuguese fortresses and settlements scattered along the Indian Ocean. But it was not  only the west coast of India , there were two portuguese ports in Bengal too. In this video I will talk briefly about those along with how Portuguese people made it to India and Bengal .
So I’m Labid Rahat, currently stuck doing my undergrad due to COVID-19.I have a huge interest in maps and history. That's why I'm trying to show the geography and history of the world ,through map animations and infographics in this channel called V-gull & History. Sometimes, I  also talk about the historical plots of some ongoing events as well.
