“It’s a ticking time bomb”: Inside a crumbling NHS hospital | Times Reports

The Sunday Times goes inside The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn which is using 1,500 steel props to hold up roofs and ceilings in 56 areas. The cost of the backlog of maintenance work at more than 200 hospital trusts reached £9.2 billion last year, £1.5 billion of which was classed as being of high risk to patients. More than £110 million is being spent to safeguard the hospitals temporarily while permanent solutions are found.
