Why are Canon EF L lenses going so cheap?

The Canon L series lenses have been regarded as the best lenses every made by many professional photographers. When Canon dropped the EF mount in favor of the RF mount focused on the new mirrorless bodies, the market for used EF lenses grew significantly, as people sold their beloved EF L lenses and bought in to the new RF mount.

The RF mount is a superb addition to Canon's product line and will sell well, however this is a great time I believe to grab a bargain or two, when so many people are selling their EF L lenses, the prices on marketplaces such as eBay remain lower than a couple of years ago.  

This video looks at some example listings for sold lenses to see if this theory is correct.

I kept my Canon 5Diii and my collection of L series lenses, I have a Sony E to EF adapter but find I rarely use it; the Canon lenses are generally used on the DSLR Canon body for portrait sessions and planned sports events. I will not be selling them, at least for now.
