Andrew Feinstein, a pro-Palestinian activist
Andrew Feinstein, a pro-Palestinian activist and politician, is running as an independent and challenging Keir Starmer in his constituency of Holborn and St Pancras.
Feinstein was a member of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1994 to 2001 in South Africa before resigning due to his party's refusal to investigate a $5 billion arms deal corruption scandal.
He then moved to the UK and worked as an investigative author and campaigner.
When asked about his top priorities if elected, Feinstein said: "The first thing I will do is ensure a complete halt to arms sales to Gaza from the 5th of July.
"The second thing I would do is introduce legislation for proper rent controls so that people don't have to spend so much of their income on housing.
"And the third thing I would do is immediately call for significant portions of the defence budget to be reallocated to address the greatest crisis we all face," he added.
