Knitting Charts - How to Read a Knitting Chart

Knitting charts are used to abbreviate knitting directions. Many times, knitting patterns involve repeating certain sections or certain rows multiple times. Writing them out can become and look tedious, take up a lot of space as well as become confusing in and of themselves. A knitting chart makes for a nice and compact set of knitting instructions for a particular pattern.
