RAID 10 helps protect your data in the event of a disaster -- with twice the protection. Watch to learn what RAID 10 is and how it can be useful.

RAID 10, also sometimes referred to as RAID 1+0, is a RAID configuration that uses disk mirroring and disk stripping to protect data. It does this by backing up a copy of the data and safely storing it in another location, so that in the case of a disaster, you still have another copy.

While RAID 1 provides disk mirroring, or replication of data for instantaneous failover, RAID 0 brings disk striping, which provides fast read and write times. RAID 10 is ideal for I/O-intensive applications such as email web servers, databases, and high-disk performance operations.
