It's That Simple -- NRDC clean air ad

During 2011, the US Environmental Protection Agency under the Obama administration moved forward to protect public health by setting stronger air pollution standards to reduce mercury and other air toxics from power plants, industrial boilers and incinerators; "good neighbor" standards that cut down on power plant smog and soot pollution that drifts across states lines. Combined, these safeguards will protect hundreds of thousands of children, pregnant women and their families from the devastating and deadly health risks caused by power plant pollution.

As you can imagine, polluters and their allies in Congress don't like these stronger safeguards and have been working hard to block these rules. But power plants are some of the dirtiest and deadliest pollution sources, and we've waited long enough to hold these powerful polluters accountable for the deaths and disease they cause.

That's why its so important that President Obama put our health first and stood up to polluters by supporting these stronger standards. Many of you have written (more than once) to the White House urging Obama to stand strong, so this is a victory for all of our families that you helped make happen!

Now it's time to tell Congress to do the same.
