I am helping this family of 6 by cleaning their home for free after years of neglect due to the after effects of some health complications and bankruptcy. In 2014, after giving birth to her youngest child, Mom had an amniotic fluid embolism (AFE) and nearly died from this rare complication. She went into a coma and had some anoxic brain damage. Some of the long-term effects of this include neurologic impairment, memory loss, emotional and psychological effects, PTSD, anxiety,  and depression. Because of this, it has been difficult for her to manage day to day things like she used to and Dad had to try to pick up the slack, but when he had a mitral valve prolapse and went into cardiac arrest in December 2021, he, too, had long-term effects from this, causing things to become even harder to manage around the house. They have many other challenges as well so, when they reached out for help, I was more than happy to give them a hand with getting things back under control.
