In this video you can drive along on the D8 from Crikvenica to Senj on Croatia's Adriatic coast.
Once upon a time this road was quite critical in terms of getting from North to South and vice versa in Croatia. But ever since the gradual construction and opening of the A1 highway, which is located a bit more inland, the D8 serves the role of being the scenic alternative as well as connecting local places on the coast.
Since I had already driven the A1 a few times before, I wanted to check out this scenic alternative and see how long it would take. No doubt about it, the A1 is hours faster if you want to get from Istria to Dalmatia for instance.
Both Crikvenica and Senj are slightly larger towns on the D8, but most of the towns on this route are generally quite small. Tourist season was at its end as we were driving too, so the road was very quiet and relaxed to drive. Enjoy the scenery!
