Zuko was born with a deformity in two of his legs and was abandoned in a desert town. Katie McKittrick and Idan Riek headed out and brought him back to Los Angeles. Working with the medical team at CARES and with Chad Marquis, a Prosthetist/Orthotist, we provided him with a custom device that will protect his knees and joints from injury over time. Sometimes, amputation is the only option, like in the case of this Pit Bull by the freeway: Can you see the pain in her eyes? I a... , but we always do whatever would yield the best results for a healthy and happy life.

Zuko found a home thanks to our friends at The Little Red Dog, and it is so cool to see him walking around on all four legs. 🥰👍
