THE FIRST SOLO ALBUM IN 30 YEARS OF THE LEGENDARY VOICE OF NAZARETH!! BRAND NEW ALBUM “LAST TESTAMENT” OUT NOW
There are only a very few classic rock vocalists, whose voices can be recognized on the first notes. One of these voices is the former frontman of the Scottish rockband Nazareth: legendary Dan McCafferty.
After nearly fifty years of Nazareth, Dan unfortunately had to retire from stage due to health reasons. His lifeblood remains to be his voice, with which he continues to raise the roofs of concert halls. He never gave up on his passion to express feelings through music. On October 18th 2019, Dan McCafferty will release his first ever solo album “Last Testament”.
Including 15 tracks “Last Testament” is a fiery mix of lyrical and musical styles. Covering rock songs such as “My Baby” and “Bring It On Back”, the album furthermore lets Dan use his new-found freedom to explore yet unknown creative paths. You can find self-reflecting songs like “You And Me” or “Looking Back” such as the hugely emotive first single “Tell Me” and the gentle love song “Sunshine” (featuring vocals by former band mate Pete Agnew).
Working on the songs for “Last Testament”, Dan teamed up with Czech composer and accordion and keyboard maestro Karel Marik. Karel composed the album’s music, while Dan himself wrote all the lyrics. The songs had been recorded and mixed at Substation Studio in Rosyth, Scotland by sound engineer Duncan Aitken, before being mastered by Eike Freese at Chameleon Studios Hamburg.
“Last Testament” is an outstanding and very personal album, which will surprise, challenge and delight Dan’s countless fans all around the globe.
“Last Testament” will be available as a 2LP Vinyl, CD Digipak and digital on October 18th 2019 via earMUSIC.
