Both are used to talk about future actions or events, but there are slight differences in their usage.

1. "Will" is used to express a decision or a promise made at the moment of speaking. It is often used to talk about things that are unplanned or spontaneous.

Example: I will help you with your homework.

2. "Be going to" is used to express a plan or intention that was made before the moment of speaking. It is often used to talk about things that are already decided or arranged.

Example: I am going to meet my friend tomorrow.

➪ In the first sentence, we use be going to because we are asking about intentions or plans.

➪ In the second sentence, we use be going to because we use be going to to talk about something that you see is going to happen (predictions based on present evidence).

These last 2 questions bring up the last  usage of "will" and "be going to" for predictions:

Examples: -

"Will": The weather forecast says it will rain tomorrow. -

"Be going to": Look at those dark clouds, it's going to rain soon.



Both "will" and "be going to" can be used for making predictions about the future, but there are differences in their usage.

"Will" is used for predictions based on what we think or believe will happen in the future. It is often used when we are making a guess or a judgment about a future event or situation. Example: I think she will pass the exam because she studied very hard.



"Be going to" is used for predictions based on evidence or present signs that a future event is likely to happen. It is often used when we are making a prediction based on something we can see or know at the present moment.

Example: Look at those dark clouds, it's going to rain soon.
