Multiple myeloma (Plasma Cell Myeloma) is cancer of Plasma Cells.

Abnormal plasma cells produce abnormal antibodies which cause kidney problems and overly thick blood.

Plasma cells also form mass in the bone marrow or soft tissue.

When one tumour is present it is called plasmacytoma, more than one is called multiple myeloma

In 20% cases of MM the light chains of immunoglobulins are produced abnormally.

Being small molecular weight they are excreted in urine.

These are called Bence Jones Protein.
