Calculations in UV-Visible spectroscopy

Calculation of molar absorptivity is an essential task when we deal with UV-visible spectroscopy. This value is the intrinsic property of drugs at particular wavelength of radiation and at specific temperature. Normally we can measure the absorbance by considering the molar absorptivity in which case we prepare solution in molar concentrations. But some times we can prepare solutions in percentage weight by volume where we can indicate absorptivity with letter 'a'. Now this will have units as dl/(gm.cm) as the concentration is expressed in gm/100ml. So in this video, we will discuss few of the calculations on both absorptivity as well as molar absorptivity and we also see the relation between these two terms.
