(Odia Children Story) Manda Khia
(Odia Children Story) Manda Khia Asura (ମଣ୍ଡ। ଖିଆ ଅସୁର) is an Odia kids Story (Odia Gapa | Aai Maa Kahani | odia gapa for child | Odia cartoon film) for kids full of comedy, thrill, drama and action. Bheem kills Manda Khia Asura to save the villagers of Ekachakra village.
Plot - The Pandavas and their mother Kunti were in exile. After visiting from place to place finally they stopped at Ekachakra village. There they took shelter in the home of a Brahmin Family who were very kind and helpful. One day all Pandavas except the mighty Bheema, had been to village for Bhiksha (begging food). All of sudden, mother Kunti heard the Brahmin wifes cry and went to their house to know why she was crying. Then the brahmin husband and wife started telling the whole story to Kunti about the cruelity of Manda Khia Asura.
All the villagers used to be very happy before the Manda Khia Asura enters to the village one day and ate one of the villagers and warned all that he would come daily to the village and eat all the villagers one by one. Then suddenly the village started trembling with fear of Manda Khia Asura and started thinking how to escape from that Rakshasa / Asura. Then the village head gives the idea of offering a full cart of Manda Pitha (Oriya / Odia special cake prepared by Odia People in festival) to the Asura to fulfil his hunger so that the Asura will not eat the villagers. All the people agreed to the Village Head’s suggestion. They started carrying tasty manda pitha to the Manda Khia Asura cave and offer the Asura delicious pitha. So they named the Asura as Manda Khia Asura. But the cruel Manda Khia Asura not only ate the tasty Manda Pitha but also ate the people who were taking Manda Pitha to him. Every day some wife became widow, some kid became orphan and some parents became childless.
And that day was the turn of Brahmin Family’s turn to take manda pitha to Manda Khia Asura’s place. So they were crying as they had to loose their family that day. After listening to all of this, Kunti became angry and told to that family that, her son Bheem will take the Manda Pitha cart to Manda Khia Asura and told them not to worry. Mother Kunti asked mighty Bheema to follow her order and save the villagers from the torture of cruel Manda Khia Asura. Then Bheem starts his adventurous journey to Manda Khia Asura’s cave. On the way to cave, Bheem felt hungry and ate all the Manda Pitha which were meant to be offered to the Asura. And he filled the cart with stone. When Manda Khia Asura ate those stone thinking them to be Manda Pitha, he ended up with broken teeth. He became so angry that he jumped on to Bheem and started hitting him. But all mighty Bheem was so powerful that he managed to escape and he started hitting the Asura back. A long fight kept on happening between Bheem and Manda Khia Asura. And finally Bheem killed that Manda Khia Asura. All the villagers were grateful to Bheem and started praising all the Pandavas and their mother Kunti
