To Do lists are a rubbish way of getting things done. But the idea of a well-formed list is a good one. You can never finish it. That gives you a dilemma at the end of every day. List 2: Today List To Day list is a closed list. Once you finish it, your work for the day is done. Go home and enjoy the rest of your day. List 3: Could Do List Could-do List is the proper version of a To Do list. It lists the things you could do, without the expectation that you should do them. List 4: Tomorrow List Tomorrow List lets you know that whatever you need to do tomorrow is safely on your agenda. List 5: To Don’t List A list of should do could do, and would do items that you just aren't getting done. Stop sweating hem and put them on your To Don't list. List 6: Project List A list of Potential Projects. They aren't getting done because they are too big and not important enough... now. So your Project List is a place to store ideas for when you need a good idea to pursue. List 7: Tiddler List Feeling a little overwhelmed… Put all of the many little things onto a Tiddler list and then power through them to leave your main list far smaller. List 8: To Track List A 'To Track' list is a list of outstanding stuff that you need to keep track of. If you don't, it may not get done by someone who promised to do it. And, if you don't spot it's fallen through, then that could be bad. RECOMMENDED EXERCISE ====================== 1. Create a set of lists that you think you can use to improve your own productivity.
