In Scotland, a new fine
In Scotland, a new fine of £100 is being introduced for those who park their cars on pavements. The argument for the penalty is that cars parked on pedestrian walkways are obstructive and cause risk to wheelchair users, the blind/visually impaired, and many others.
We speak to lawyer Paul Britton, who believes that a fine isn't the right move, and that pavement parking is necessary in some cases, and Dr Amit Patel, Disability campaigner, who is blind himself and struggles with this issue day to day.
