The French-American Foundation - Young Leaders Program

Since 1981, the French-American Foundation—United States has sought to strengthen Franco-American relations through its flagship Young Leaders program. The Young Leaders program is grounded in the belief that informed dialogue among French and American leaders will advance solutions to the most pressing issues of our time. Each year, in collaboration with its sister organization in France, the Foundation selects a small number of applicants between the ages of 30 and 40 years old to participate in two seminars — one in the United States, and one in France — over the course of two years, before becoming lifelong alumni. Our chosen participants hail from a multitude of sectors and professional backgrounds, but always have two things in common: their demonstrated leadership and their interest in maintaining and growing the French-American relationship. Today, our alumni are among the most influential people on both sides of the Atlantic, including former First Lady Hillary Clinton and current French president Emmanuel Macron.
