I saved up for a 4003W Rickenbacker bass, but bought a custom chinese replica instead

For many years I have been a fan of the 4003 basses, and specifically the walnut version: 4003W.

These basses seem incredibly rare, and I have never seen one that is effectively in stock or for sale in Europe.
I heard stories of people waiting many years for their Rickenbacker pre-order purchase to finally arrive.

Even a large European music webshop informed me that dozens of people are currently waiting for their order. So the only thing you can do to get your hands on one: is to pay full, and start waiting...

In anticipation of ever getting my hands on a real 4003W, I had a 'custom' replica built for me at a Chinese factory.
