300.000 km in 9 Jahren mit dem Motorrad durch Europa.

A summary for all my english speaking viewers:
„Hard to believe, but true.
Today late August 2018 are reached 300,000 km, in just nine years.
The most extraordinary thing about it, with the first clutch.
Of course, time has left its mark. Again at the BMW still at the driver. A set of motorcycle boots has been worn over the past nine years. The leather suit has gotten a few more wrinkles.
The rubbers of the driver's footpegs were worthy of renewal after 160,000 km.
With two exceptions, our BMW has always reliably done its job.
At kilometer 157,000 the engine did not start in the morning.
The cause was a defective electronics of the fuel pump.
The cardan shaft prevented 241,618 on a journey. Fortunately, only about 5 km away from our local BMW-Partner.
What else happened over the 300,000 km, you like to report in the coming minutes.
The first 150,000 km were without any noteworthy events. Exception of several defective H7 bulbs. More about this problem later.
The first major trouble was at 150,000 km. The right heater handle did not work anymore and had to be replaced.
At 158,000 km and at 275,000 km, the brake discs were closed and renewed.
The electric height adjustment of the rear suspension up its function at milestone 175,000 km.
Because of the high cost of a new suspension, we have renounced the exchange. Since then we drive our BMW with top spring preload. This works very well both solo and with full load.
As part of the replacement of the cardan shaft, the rear axle gearbox was replaced as a precautionary measure because of light play.
At 265,000 km an oil service was carried out on the front and rear suspension.
Since then the handling is like new.
The replacement of the starter battery was at 280,000 km, after eight years.
For a starter battery a very good value.
Constant nuisance over the track was the high H7 bulb wear.

48 front tires and 68 rear tires were used by our BMW over the 300,000 km.
An R1200RT is extremely sporty to drive.
Together with the long range, the high payload and a great weather protection, it is in total one of the best motorcycles I have ever driven.
Fuel consumption has reduced more over the course of the race.
From initially about 4.5 l to now almost 4 l per 100 km, with comparable driving style.
The motorway share was extremely low over the 300,000 km.
The oil consumption of the engine is still very low.
So let's get to the next 100,000 km.
For the engine certainly no problem.
