I used to bake a LOT when I was living in the States, but ever since I moved to Korea a few years back I wasn’t able to bake because ovens are not as common. I recently moved to a new place and there is a microwave-oven combo(?) already built in! It’s not the necessarily the best for baking and it’s kind of small, but I’m glad to be able to bake again!

I’m a hardcore pretzel lover, so as a first comeback to baking I made these pretzels I made & loved a while back. Still such a great recipe and it turned out great!

Dough Ingredients:
2 ¼ teaspoon (7g) yeast / 이스트1 cup warm water / 따뜻한 물1 teaspoon sugar / 설탕
1 teaspoon salt / 소금
1 tbs unsalted butter, melted / 무가염 버터
3 cups all-purpose flour / 중력분

Baking Soda Bath Ingredients:
2 cups water / 물
2 tbs baking soda / 베이킹소다

Recipe:
1. Add yeast and sugar to the warm water (I used instant yeast so I didn’t wait for the yeast to get activated)
2. Add in salt and melted butter
3. Add the flour 1 cup at a time, mixing in between
4. When the dough has come together roughly, move to a surface and knead by hand (about 10 minutes)
5. Lightly grease the bowl and add the dough back in. Let it rest for 15 minutes
6. In a pot, boil 2 cups water with 2 tsp baking soda
7. When the baking soda dissolves, turn off the heat and pour into a shallow plate
8. Flatten the dough and cut into 8 even pieces
9. Roll each piece of dough into long ropes about 19-20 inches long
10. Shape the ropes into whatever pretzel shape you’d like
11. Place the shaped pretzels into the baking soda bath for 2 minutes
12. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle with coarse salt
13. Bake at 475 degrees F for 8-9 minutes
14. While it’s still hot out of the oven, brush with melted butter

레시피:
1. 따뜻한 물에 이스트랑 설탕을 넣어주세요
2. 소금, 녹인 버터 추가해주세요
3. 밀가루 3컵을 1컵씩 나눠서 넣고 섞어주세요
4. 어느정도 뭉쳐지면 손으로 반죽해주세요. 10분 정도, 탁력이 생길때까지 반죽하기
5. 믹실볼에 기름을 두루고 반죽을 담아 15분 정도 두세요
6. 냄비에 물 2컵과 베이킹소다 2tsp 넣고 끓여주세요
7. 베이킹소다가 녹으면 불을 끄고 용기/그릇에 담아주세요
8. 반죽을 꺼내서 살짝 평평하게 누르고 8등분 해주세요
9. 각 반죽 덩어리를 긴 줄 모양으로 말아주세요 (45-50cm 정도)
10. 긴 줄이 된 반죽을 원하는 프레즐 모양으로 만들어주세요
11. 프레즐 모양 반죽으로 베이킹소다 물에 2분 동안 담궈주세요
12. 베이킹 팬에 올리고 굵은 소금을 뿌려주세요
13. 230도에 8-9분 구워주세요
14. 오븐에서 꺼내자마자 녹인 버터를 발라주세요
