Chrissie Hynde Talks Art, Creativity and Her Spring-Summer 2021 Collaboration With Vivienne Westwood

In addition to being a rock legend and the leader of new wave icons the Pretenders, Chrissie Hynde is a prolific artist. For their SS21 collection, Vivienne Westwood and Andreas Kronthaler turned to their old friend Chrissie for inspiration and collaboration -- transforming several of her abstract paintings into colourful, vibrant prints across dresses, suits, T-shirts and jackets. In return for permission to use her artwork, the pair donated to Chrissie's humane, no kill dairy farm project Ahimsa Milk.

In this interview, Chrissie Hynde looks back on her evolving passion for art, the different creative challenges of painting and music, her friendship with Vivienne and Andreas, and the genesis of her contribution to the Vivienne Westwood SS21 collection.
