YA in Books VS YA in Marketing is completely different

Y’all. I wish the marketers and publishers would get together and figure this out, because the difference between the two is staggering. But if you’re looking at the book publishing industry 12 to 18 is young adult. Young adult in the book publishing industry means teen. Yes there are some bookstores that have a teen section but if you look at what the book is published under, it is published as a young adult novel. My book touch of kindness is for teens but it is published as a young adult novel. I hope that gives a little bit of clarification and if you don’t like it, don’t come after me.
