Here we are at last, every single hunt in the game led to this very moment, the moment Montblanc sees us as his only hope to slay the very beast that led to the creation of Clan Centurio, Yiazmat itself!
Prepare well before the battle, you'll need a healthy supply of Chronos Tears and probably Phoenix Downs, some Hi-Ethers would also help getting through this long fight.
Yiazmat boasts the highest number of HP in the game, with no less than 50,112,254 HP!
Unlike a lot of endgame enemies, Yiazmat isn't weak to Holy, in fact, it absorbs it, so Excalibur will remain in the inventory, instead, Dark-elemental weapons, such as the Yagyu Darkblade or a good gun with Dark Shot will be your main damage dealers in this fight.
Once prepared, head to the Coliseum in the Ridorana Cataracts to find the Mark. Also, make sure that Float is among your buffs, since the arena is littered with traps.
The battle starts slowly with Yiazmat mostly sticking to physical attacks, as well as Stone Breath and White Breath, possibly inflicting Petrify and Stop on your party. Its physical attacks also have a 5% chance of instantly killing your characters, so don't be surprised to see its target sometimes drop dead despite having high HP. You should use this first phase as an opportunity to debuff the beast, Wither is a must, Addle is useless since Yiazmat has no offensive Magicks, and Expose is very handy to make your victory faster, you can use Shear if you plan on using Magick (Reflected Darkgas are your best choice for that purpose).
Straying too far from Yiazmat will cause it to buff itself, so if you decide to leave the arena to recover, make it quick, because if it casts Regen on itself, you might just come back to a fully healthy enemy!
Yiazmat will regularly use its ultimate attack, Cyclone, on your party, it is a physical Wind-elemental attack that can inflict Sap on your characters, if you've reduced the beast's physical attack, the damage won't be too bad, but otherwise, consider switching to equipment that resists Wind when it readies Cyclone.
When its HP gets below 60%, Yiazmat will start using Death Strike, an instant-killing move that targets one character, having Shell active gives you a 50% chance to avoid death, so don't neglect that status.
When reaching around 10% HP, Yiazmat will use Growing Threat to increase its level and by extension, its damage output, if you haven't Withered it down, it will hurt a lot.
At around 5% HP, Yiazmat will cast Reflectga on your party, if you have Renew going off at that time, all you will be able to do is watch in horror as Yiazmat's HP is fully restored, so be extremely wary of that, best stick to Cura or Curaja at most to avoid this! You can either cast Dispelga on your party to get rid of it or equip your healer with an Opal Ring that bypasses Reflect.
In the end, you'll likely see your characters die A LOT from Yiazmat's physical strikes (That 5% chance is often in its favor) and Death Strike, at this point, it might be a good idea to simply stick to Shellga as a buff to minimize the risks of Death Strike hitting.

After prevailing over this beast, you can return to Montblanc to earn your reward, some money as well as the Godslayer's Badge, which will have a use later on...
