Burning baking soda mixed with sugar and isopropyl alcohol to keep the fire burning. Heating baking soda produces carbon dioxide when it breaks down and also heating sugar produces black carbon. Carbon dioxide gas gets trapped inside air pockets of the black carbon. So the reaction create black snake that's grow over time.
