Another character named Tom Foster was mentioned in Power Man Annual #1, 30 years before Thomas Foster (Goliath) made his first appearance. Apparently different from Goliath, who is a physicist and a biochemist, this other Tom Foster is a geophysicist and is engaged to Samantha Sheridan.

As a child, Tom was part of a church choir. While later becoming a atheist, possibly after the death of his uncle Bill Foster.
