Injecting local anesthetic just superficial and medial to the supraorbital foramen will anesthetize the supraorbital nerve and supratrochlear nerve, which innervate the forehead and upper eyelid. The supraorbital foramen is along the superior orbital rim, vertically in line with the patient's pupil when looking straight ahead. It can often be palpated. Inject 1-3 mL of local anesthetic just media and superficial to the supraorbital foramen.
