To start with, teaching can be a highly memorable and enriching experience, especially when it’s impactful for both the teacher and the learner. One such memorable incident occurred last summer when I had the opportunity to teach my younger cousin. In terms of what I taught, I will cover when it happened, what I taught, who I taught, why I taught this person, and how I felt about the experience.

During the summer break last year, I found myself with more free time and decided to spend it productively. Since my younger cousin was also on holiday, it was the perfect opportunity for us to spend time together and learn something new. Thus, we organized a daily schedule where I would teach her some basic coding skills.

Specifically, I taught her the basics of coding, focusing on simple programming languages like Python. Through interactive lessons and hands-on projects, I made sure she understood the fundamental concepts. Utilizing online resources and coding platforms, I provided her with ample practice opportunities.

My younger cousin, who is ten years old, was the eager learner. Considering her keen interest in technology, she was particularly enthusiastic about learning to code. Since she has a visual learning style, I incorporated a lot of visual aids and diagrams into our lessons.

The main reason I decided to teach her coding was her evident curiosity and enthusiasm for technology. In order to help her develop a valuable skill that could benefit her future, I felt this was an excellent opportunity. Due to our close bond, I felt a personal responsibility to support her learning journey.

Overall, I felt incredibly proud and satisfied seeing her grasp new concepts and apply them successfully. Upon reflection, the entire experience was enriching and formative, not just for her but for me as well. As a result, I am more inclined to engage in teaching and mentoring roles in the future.
