In this video I'll be showing you how to convert most of the common ROM file formats (.bin/cue, .gdi and .iso) into the CHD file format. Latest version of MAME: www.mamedev.org/release.html CHDman with included batch file: drive.google.com/file/d/1-syX8NITUzuNyk-ER-UFCOveh… Reasons you should be using CHD over the common file formats: - Highly Compressed (18-20% better compression rates when compared to .pbp files). - Supported by most cores within RetroArch as well as most standalone emulators. - Archival Format (Which means that you can convert back to the original file format with no loss to data). What is CHD? CHD stands for "Compressed Hunks of Data". The MAME team made it to store hard disk and Laserdisc images for arcade games. The format also makes folders look neater and space lighter. More and more emulators are adopting support for CHD as a convenience factor, which is a good thing. Using CHD over something like bin/cue also means that it's just 1 image for multi-track games instead of the 30+ tracks that most multi-track games come with. #Chdman #RetroArch #Tutorial
