On the day of their marriage, Dhanush finds out through a newspaper article that Abhay Deol is a Sikh. This enrages Dhanush as Sonam Kapoor had used their religious differences to convince him that their match was not possible. Dhanush reveals everything to Sonam Kapoor's parents thereby interrupting their marriage ceremony.
