This is Bernie, he started training with us because he lunged barked at every car that moved. He had even gotten loose and chased after cars in the road.
When you are black & white in your communication, dogs learn fast. It’s not a shortcut, it’s clarity. We had to teach Bernie that:
Chasing cars = bad
Not chasing cars = good
It’s really that simple. Proof is in the pudding 🤷♂️
Disclaimer: Yes, the dog is wearing a prong collar, but do NOT put a prong collar on your dog and expect your problems to go away - the reactivity will probably get worse. Prong collars do NOT train dogs. Training trains dogs.
There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. Be fair to your dog, work with a professional if you don’t know what you’re doing.
