We see oil entering the vat at the bottom. Emulsifier is added - the man pours it from a bucket. We see the mixture being stirred. A temperature gauge reads 41 degrees centigrade. Salt is mixed with iced water. Man stands by the vat where this takes place. Churning is the next step. Cultured milk is added to iced water. We see the two being mixed. Oil and emulsifier are added. Lid is lifted from vat and we see the smooth mixture. More machinery is seen. Bottles labelled: "Colour", "Vitamins" and "Flavour" are seen in C/U. The three elements are added to the mixture. The mixture is cooled. Chunks of margarine fall from a chute. These "curds" are transported along a belt and then drop into a vat. The mixture is then kneaded and packed. Smooth margarine is squeezed from a large nozzle. Large trolleys of margarine are pushed around the depot. Chunks of the mixture are fed into a machine which makes them into pats. C/U of pats being packed in paper. Wrapped butter is taken off the conveyor belt and packed into boxes by two women. The boxes are then stacked.
