Mike Love and The Full Circle - Jahwakening (Live - At Home in Hawai'i)
I first heard Dark Side of the Moon when I was in 7th grade and my sister discovered it in my Dad’s record collection. I was instantly intrigued by the lush guitars, keyboards, vocals and lyrical content. A couple of years ago I was walking in the airport when it dawned on me that Money was in the same key and similar tempo/groove to Jahwakening and it set in motion the idea to arrange the tune within the tune. I’ve rarely done this in the past, but David Gilmour’s solos are so well written and phrased that I had to learn it note for note to truly do it justice. As with almost all of his solos, the beauty is in the bends. Go to my YouTube channel for the full song and see how Jon leads me in to this with such an epic bass solo. This was definitely one of the highlights of the night for me.
