Darksword Battle Eternity is a
Darksword Battle Eternity is a brand new Quest 2 co op brawler and another VR roguelike title, players are tasking with battling their way up a series of treacherous elevators which have enemies waiting to take you down on each floor. This new VR roguelike adventure looks great on Quest 2, environments, characters, enemies and items all look sharp, polished and full of charm, it's one of the best looking Quest 2 games I've played recently but it is a fairly simple concept. the gameplay loop is somewhat limited; you hop into the elevator and ascend through multiple floors filled with creatures you need to dispatch, the combat is a pretty straight forward blend of VR hack and slash action with a little ranged combat in the form of a bow and arrows. You must ascend as high as you can before dying at which point you load back into the hub area to upgrade your character with any XP or unlockable items you grabbed along the way. Then you start the loop all over again...
The combat feels like good arcadey fun but those looking for something a little more complex or physics driven will potentially be disappointed with what Darksword Battle Eternity is offering. There is also a co op/multiplayer option for those looking to bring a friend, I imagine this will be the way in which Darksword VR really comes to life and reaches its full potential.
