China's President Xi Jinping had a rare state visit to France, which started with trilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and with the European Commission President. Just a few days prior, President Macron had a brief meeting with the Sikyong of the Central Tibetan Administration in exile. Hundreds of Tibetans protested Xi Jinping's arrival and urged France to address human rights concerns with the Chinese president. Activists and Tibetans in France protested in Paris in the past few days to bring attention to these issues.
