While it is technically a massive inaccuracy for reenactors to not shoot each other at events, it seems to me that a certain level of modern safety regulations are probably for the best within the hobby. That being said, merely loading our weapons with blank rounds means that rather than firing with a sharp cracking noise, we produce more of a whooshing sound. It is not nearly as intimidating as a round with the paper wadding rammed home, and of course does not even begin to approach the force of a fully loaded piece. So, when out firing some live rounds, I thought it might be appropriate to show off the differences in sound between a 'reenacting round' and an actual shot. - - - - - - This video was made in support of The Native Oak.
