Samsung DLP bulbs seem to last a couple of years before burning out. Probably equivalent to about 3 thousand hours of on time. It's an expensive fix to have it professionally done (about $250). An easy bread and butter money maker for the technician since the bulb can be purchased online for around $50. Don't cheap out on the bulb! An aftermarket / off brand may appear to be a good deal, but if your Samsung DLP TV bulb goes out again, it's sure to be on Superbowl Sunday.
