Paul Jabara – “Trapped In A Stairway” (Casablanca) 1978

Written and produced by Paul Jabara and Bob Esty. A song featured in the Motown-Casablanca Filmworks’ film, “Thank God It’s Friday”. Paul co-wrote this song and also the big song from the film, Donna Summer’s “The Last Dance”, a #3 hit in the summer of 1978. Paul also had a part in the film. Paul also wrote/co-wrote some other hit titles; notably “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)”, a #1 US hit in 1979 for Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer, recording as a duo. Sadly tow of the protagonists here are no longer with us. We lost Paul Jabara in 1992 and Donna Summer in 2012.
