July 20 Plot & Operation Valkyrie: Stauffenberg & German Army Plans to Assassinate Hitler

July 20 Plot, also known as Operation Valkyrie, was a failed attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler and overthrow the Nazi regime during the second world war. On 20 July 1944, Claus von Stauffenberg and other conspirators attempted to assassinate Adolf Hitler inside his Wolf's Lair field headquarters in present-day Poland. The name "Operation Valkyrie"—originally referring to part of the conspiracy—has become associated with the entire event. In this video, I explain the events as they happened and how the plan ultimately failed.
