Crust:
1 c. butter or margarine (2 blocks)
4 T. powdered sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. macadamia nuts, chopped (optional)

Soften butter to room temperature; mix in sugar, then flour.  Add nuts and press evenly into 8 x 13 pan.  Chill for 30 minutes.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown.  Cool

Filling:

2 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
3-1/2 c. water
dash of salt
2 packages strawberry Jell-O (3 oz. each)
2 t. vanilla
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
2 container strawberries, washed, drained, stems and caps removed (16 oz. each)
Cool Whip, 8 oz.

Combine sugar, cornstarch, 3-1/2 c. water and salt in saucepan; cook over medium heat until thickened and clear, stirring constantly. Just before removing from heat, add Jello-O, vanilla and gelatin. Set aside and cool thoroughly.  Arrange sliced strawberries on cooled crust, reserving some for garnish.  Poor cooled filling mixture over fruit.  Refrigerate until set, about 3-4 hours.  Top with whipped topping or sweetened whipped cream.  Garnish with strawberries.

Variation: Vanilla pudding may be put onto the crust first and chilled before the Jell-O mixture is added.
Variation: Add sliced bananas to the strawberry mixture.
Variation:  To make individual tars, use small graham cracker cupcake-size containers. CORRECTION!!  Instagram name is Beth_Bubbly_Toes
