Distribution
The genus Psilotum consists of two species, P. nudum and P. flaccidum.
P. nudum is fairly common in tropical and subtropical parts of both hemispheres, whereas P. flaccidum, a pendulous epiphyte on tree trunks, is restricted to Hawaii, Jamaica, Florida, Mexico and some Pacific Islands.
In India, the genus is represented by P. nudum reported from Shimla, Kulu (Himachal Pradesh), Panchmarhi (Madhya Pradesh) and Darjeeling hills (West Bengal).
