COVID-19 is still a pandemic in China, and the fatality rate is high. We can confirm this by the amount of retired PLA generals who have died since last July. According to incomplete statistics based on official announcements, from July to November of 2023, at least 26 senior military officers at the level of corps commander and above died from illnesses, including General Yu Zhenwu, former commander of the PLA Air Force.
