Using Plastigage to Check Clearance
Mic's Motorworx: Season 2 Episode 6

Little Jon walks us through on how to use use Plastigage to check the clearances of connecting rod bearings.

Checking these clearances is useful if you're building a new engine, diagnosing engine knock or if a bearing is spun and there's a need to check.

Our application is a Gen II LS.  We admit, Jon errored when he read the clearance. He should have stated 0.0005, or 5 ten-thousandths. However, this process is pretty much universal and applies to pretty much anything with rod-bearings.  Make sure to check torque, sequence, and clearances for your individual application.
