“To praise” means to express warm admiration. It’s always appropriate to praise our Heavenly Father! There are many ways to show Him our appreciation for everything He does for us.
You can pray, pray, and pray some more! Have you ever counted your blessings? Blessings are the good things in our lives that come from God. What are you thankful for? Your family? A place to sleep and food to eat? Make a list and then praise God in prayer by counting your blessings.
You could also write God a letter of praise. You don’t have to worry about an envelope or a stamp - He can see everything we write!
Singing hymns is also a wonderful way to praise and honor God. Hymns are like prayers set to music. You could sing by yourself, or ask your family or your Christian friends to sing with you. The Bible tells us about the psalms, or songs, that David wrote to praise God. David wrote in Psalms (63:3,5), “(3)Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! (5)You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.” Do you like to write music or play an instrument? You could write a song for God just like David!
We can praise God by studying the Bible and learning more about Him and his son, Jesus. The Bible is an amazing book from God filled with exciting stories, interesting characters, and good advice about how we should live our lives. The more you study the Bible, the more you will want to praise God!
You can praise God together with other Christians in your church...or share what you know about God’s mercy and goodness with others. Praising God brings us joy!
Lastly, you can praise God by being a good example and using your time to serve others. These actions show God that you’re trying very hard to do your best to please Him because you love Him.
So, how can we praise God? By praying, singing, counting our blessings, sharing our love for God with others, being a good example and giving our time to those in need.
